Deprecation of Mumbai testnet: What this means for web3 game developers

On 13 April, we officially said goodbye to the Polygon Mumbai testnet — and hello to Amoy. This means our contracts, SDKs, wallets, indexers, and relayers are no longer supported on the Mumbai testnet.

To ensure that developers can continue testing seamlessly, Sequence will support the new and improved Amoy testnet for Polygon PoS. Amoy offers faster speeds and lower fees, making it a better fit for all your testing needs.

What this means for developers

❌ Deploying contracts on Mumbai is no longer possible

❌ Existing Mumbai contracts will no longer be functional meaning users can't interact with them

❌ The Sequence stack is no longer supported on Mumbai

✅ You will need to redeploy your contracts on Amoy to continue testing

Deploy dapps or collections on Amoy with Sequence Builder

On Sequence Builder, you can quickly redeploy your dapp on Polygon Amoy. Simply navigate to Settings > Networks and select "Polygon Amoy" from the dropdown menu. 

Additionally, you can launch a new in-game collection by going to the Collections section via the left menu, selecting "Deploy New Collection," and choosing your desired network.
