đŁ Exciting news!
We pushed out a major infrastructure update to the Sequence Wallet today!
This Sequence Wallet update is an important upgrade to the Sequence protocol, providing a more robust and user-friendly experience for both developers integrating Sequence into their projects and people using the Sequence Wallet to experience web3.
Anyone who starts building with Sequence now will enjoy a better, faster, and smoother experience: developers will have more freedom to build across multiple networks, and end users experience faster login times. A real win-win.
While a lot of these enhancements are behind the scenes, they play a crucial role in expanding the Sequence Walletâs capabilities and enabling faster product development. This update enhances the Sequence platformâs robustness and scalability, benefiting both developers and users.
What does this mean for you and your users?
âĄFaster login times by 80% in some cases
đ Better support for sessions across networks: Thanks to Light State Sync, opening a session now affects all networks at the same time. This results in improved recovery options as users can use their session keys to access funds on any network, and easier development since you wonât need to account for differences in wallet behavior between chains.
đ Confidence for users that theyâll be able to access their wallets on any new networks that emerge.
đ ď¸ Better support for developers who want to experiment with their own networks.
âď¸ Integration improvements with the EIP-1271 standard for signature validation, eliminating the need for users to send on-chain transactions after each login to update their wallet configuration. As a result, users will only see a single âdeploy your walletâ prompt the first time they need to sign a message, and never again.
What do you need to do now after this release?
If youâre building with Sequence, please make sure youâre using the most up-to-date version of our SDK. You can find it in our documentation.
For anyone who is using the Sequence Wallet, thereâs nothing you need to do. Next time you log in (which should be blazing fast now!) youâll be good to go.
Where can I dig into the technical details of the Sequence Wallet update?
Curious about the technical underpinnings of the update? Weâve dived deep into the update to give you a detailed, technical explanation of how the new Sequence Wallet is able to ensure speed and cross-chain syncing without incurring significant gas costs or compromising security.Â
Check it out on the Sequence Blog.
